The official medical initially begin to develop from the monastery medicine, after the rise of the vigorous development of University, standard university medical education develop. However, the majority of women do not enter university medical school,male doctors who receive formal training on behalf of the official medicine. But the women has experience and skills in the obstetric medical field,who use medical methods such as spells, charms, herbal recipe which has folk color, deal with childbirth for folk women and cure all kinds of gynecological diseases. In the late Middle Ages, by the secular rules regulating,midwifery medical go gradually the formal and professional road. Midwifery medicine as folk medicine provide a convenient treatment approach for the community.The full text consists of introduction, text, conclusion and references, in which the body is divided into four parts.The introduction part mainly introduced the domestic and foreign research status and achievements of this thesis, describes the purpose, significance, research methods,characteristics and innovations of writing this paper.The text consists of four parts.The first part discusses the development of Medieval women medical and midwife. Minority Medieval Western Europe Women medical practitioners received formal university medical education, most female medical practitioners use practices and skills for their civil public. From ancient times to the middle ages,the midwife who use folk medicine is representative of female medical practitioners, they cure all kinds of gynecological diseases for women.The second part discusses the source of knowledge and inheritance in Medieval Western European midwifery medicine. Theory knowledge of midwifery medicine is from classic medical text of medical masters in the ancient and medieval period Discusses the midwifery medical theory of Hippocrates, Galen, Soranus, Trotula, Hildegard, midwives obtain these knowledge through the pass from mouth to mouth or male doctors who receive training. Inheritance of midwifery skill and practical into be handed down from age to age and apprenticeship, the secular rules make apprenticeship system more professional. The third part discusses the experience and skills of midwifery medicine. Which is divided into the medical level and mental level of medical practice. In the medical level, mainly discusses the midwife deal with women contraception, abortion, prenatal care, perinatal care and postnatal care by experience; in the spirit level, mainly examines the midwives using folk medical methods such as spells, charms, herbal recipe, for the relief of pregnant woman spirit. The two levels of medical practice can effectively treat pregnant women’s physical and mental health.The fourth part mainly discusses the situation and the role of midwifery medical. Because the midwives often use folk therapy, which is similar with witchcraft, who are discontented and doubted by secular. Then comes outbreak of large-scale hunting witch in European, midwife as witch are killed, once midwives marginalized by society, but the role of midwife spreads herbal knowledge and affects the case decision can not be ignored. With the introduction of the secular rules, laws and regulations,which make the midwife’s medical practice regulate and adjust, midwifery medicine gradually move to standardization and normalization. Midwifery medicine with folk color use efficient, practical, convenient medical method supplement the insufficiency of the official medicine, both complement each other, work together to promote the development of medieval medicine.The conclusion part summarizes the full text.
