Multislice Spiral CT Anatomical Variations Observed Internal Thoracic Artery And Its Clinical Application

Objective: To investigate normal internal thoracic artery (ITA) anatomicalimaging of the multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT), And then,analyze of variation on the internalthoracic artery,to provided clinical more information.Methods:Normal group:80patients (male40cases, female40cases) underwent thoracic enhancedCT were randomly selected, to observation of normal anatomy and variation on the internalthoracic artery With volume rendering(VR),curved planar reconstruction(CPR) and maximumintensity projection(MIP) techniques. And then the inner diameter of the internal thoracicartery(dITA),the length of the internal thoracic artery(lITA),the angle of the internal thoracicartery and the subclavian artery in the cross section(aITA/SA),the length of the internal thoracicartery to Artery(l（A-I）),finally analysis of anntomical variation.Variation group:18cases of ITA-related variation (male11cases, female7cases) werereceive chest plain and tow enhanced scan,then compared with the normal group.Results:1.ITA of98cases of subjects can show clearly, the display rate was100%,and18cases(18/98,18.37%) with the variation of ITA were discovered, including10cases (left6,right4)show that ITA came from subclavian artery along with other arteris,8cases(left3,right2and allsides3).2.①ITA were statistically different between male and female(P＜0.05),but not differentamong differet sides(p＞0.05);②l（A-I）and dITA were statistically different between maleand female(P＜0.05),but not different among differet sides(p＞0.05);③aITA/SA werestatistically different not only between male and female,but also between left and right(p＞0.05) Conclusion:1. multice-slice CT could show three-dimensionally the normal anatomy a of the ITA,clearly anatomical structure of branch vessels and their surrounding tissue adjacentrelationship,and mensure related data..2.the starte of ITA different from one to another and then processing technology in the64multice-slice CT could display distinctly all vairion.3. multice-slice CT and CTA could display the diappare of the ITA,then it can prepare forsurgery like thoricic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery and intervention.
