The Role of crane of construction machinery is increasingly evident in today’s society.The safety and economic benefits of crane will be increasing people’s attention, where jibdirectly determine the performance of crane as its main components.so how to design to meetcustomer needs of boom strength, stiffness and stability will be the main goal of this studydesigners. Because the traditional design methods obsolete and cumbersome calculationprocess can not achieve the requirements of the designer, and therefore the use of moderndesign and finite element analysis method for analysis of the boom, which can greatly shortenthe development cycle, improve product performance and reduce production costs andenhance the companies in the peer competitiveness.In this paper, with the cross-section telescopic boom truck cranes as the study object,firstly proposed the design theory of telescopic boom truck crane, by simplifying its structure,made the stress analysis for the telescopic boom truck cranes, to establish a mathematicalmodel for the telescopic boom box optimization.Secondly use a modern optimization algorithm-PSO, through the constraints on variousconditions and analysis the design parameters, choice the design variables reasonably, try toreduce the dimension of the design variables, demonstrated the optimal conditions, and usethe VC++6.0to prepared the optimization procedure to achieve the optimization procedures.By using the example to demonstrate the PSO making a significant decline in the boom ofweight, strength have a greatly play and prove that the algorithm effect of the telescopic boomoptimization is obvious, and prove that there is a strong practical value.Finally, based on the simplify the structure of the telescopic boom, with theAPDL-ANSYS parametric design language as a tool for the telescopic boom trucd craneparametric modeling, establish the parametric modeling of the boom and use the APDLlanguage write the optimization order flow. Be achieved meshing、constraint handling andloading by calling ANSYS. At last through the example of the optimum proves that the safetyand reliability of structure. Research through examples and test results show that particleswarm optimization crane boom has a very big role,and in the future there will be a greatprospect.
