In modern industry, belt conveyor, as a kind of ideal material conveyingequipment used to implement the bulk material, has been widely applied inmany fields, and towards long distance, large capacity, high speeddevelopment has become an irreplaceable trend. However, the traditional staticdesign method has been far cannot satisfy the design requirements, therefore,study of conveyor dynamic becomes very important.In this paper, from the study of dynamics characteristics of belt conveyor,through the comparative analysis of several kinds of viscoelastic model, finallyselected the Kelvin-Voigt model as a viscoelastic model of conveyor belt.Respectively using discrete finite element method, the conveyor belt, drivingdevice, tension device dynamics equation is established, and belt conveyorsystem dynamics equation is deduced, and further into the system stateequation.On this basis, the use of MATLAB language belt conveyor systemdynamics simulation software is developed. The software adopts made withMATLAB GUI interface, using the OED solver was used to solve dynamicequations. And the programming of several important problems were studied,such as: how to solve the problem of the friction load, how to solve theproblem of multi-points driving, and how to control the drive unit shall becarried out in accordance with the given velocity curve, etc.After the completion of the software design, for the sake of userconvenience, this article also makes a detailed introduction to the software,and carries on the instance parameter simulation. The simulation system can beobtained speed, tension, displacement of conveyor belt in the process ofchange, and the tension of key parts of the user’s concern, tighten schedule, etc.Then analyze the key point to research, and puts forward reasonableimprovement requirements for designers.
