Unmanned ground mobile platforms have played an important role in both military anc civilian. The level of development of unmanned mobile platform technology is an important symbol of modern advanced technology, as it brings the important technical control technology, image processing, environmental awareness, wireless transmission and signal processing together. Now many car companies and research institutions are having research and development of civil unmanned ground mobile platforms, the autonomous unmannec vehicles. In the vehicles, the handling stability of the steering system has a great influence or the vehicle performance. The most important performance of steering system of the unmanned ground platform is following performance and stability performance, which is ar important step to realize the unmanned technology. So the research of the steering system is important to the study of the unmanned ground maneuvering platform.Combined with the actual project, the electric steering system is designed in this paper This paper firstly introduces the development present situation of unmanned ground mobile platforms and power steering systems, and proposes the steering system program. And ther control strategies are researched, which are the motor and the front corner strategy. By usinj two soft wares, MATLAB/Simulink and ADAMS/CAR, the entire vehicle and control mode are built to verify the feasibility of the control strategy and the stability of the steering system is also analyzed. The results show that the electric steering systems technology program is theoretically feasible. At the same time, in the paper a test bench of steering system is established, including hardware and software design, focusing on hardware motor contro system,which lays the foundation for the next experimental verification.the subject identified the electric power steering system test bench overall hardware anc software solutions, with an emphasis on hardware motor control system has been designed the next step for the experimental verification of the foundation.
