Sensitivity analysis, the structural optimization design and signal feature extraction were used for the matching of the gun’s structural parameters. The law between the structure parameters and the responses of muzzle can provide both theoretical and guidance for the study on the towed howitzer’s structure parameters. Research contents mainly including:(1) This paper had established a mixed rigid-flexible finite element model of one towed howitzer based on FEM projectile-barrel coupling. Launching process of towed howitzer was simulated by the advantages of Abaqus/Implicit and Abaqus/Explicit solvers. On this basis, parametric modeling of one towed howitzer had established through the script file modification.(2) On the basis of the reasonable selection of the towed howitzer’s structure parameters, objective function was established and velocity and angular velocity is used to reflect muzzle disturbance. The sensitivity was reflected by the first difference quotients of characteristic parameters. Then, obtained results of structure parameters affecting muzzle disturbance and found parameters that influence dramatically. It can provide theoretical guide for optimization of muzzle disturbance.(3) A mathematical model of optimization design for the characterization of muzzle disturbance degree was built. Considering the searching efficiency and calculation accuracy, the original parametric finite element model of one towed howitzer was replaced with approximate model. MIGA was employed in the optimization calculation, a optimal solution of muzzle disturbance was obtained. Through the comparative analysis with the initial value, the optimization purposes is reached.(4) In order to overall obtain the internal relations between the towed howitzer’s structure parameters and the projectile movement in bore, the discrete wavelet decomposition and wavelet energy spectrum entropy index was used in time-domain and frequency-domain analysis of gun’s angular velocity. The gray images of5scales wavelet decomposition and wavelet energy spectrum entropy graphs were achieved for the extraction of response signal features.
