In recent years, with the sustained and rapid development of China’s economy, theurbanization process accelerates sharply while the production of municipal solid waste(MSW) increases dramatically, which highlights the problems of inadequate disposalcapacity, too much landfill disposal, and etc in MSW disposal. Under this background, thispaper studies the problems in the management of MSW disposal in order to improve thesituation of MSW disposal through implementing supply chain management. Further more,this paper seeks to try to further explore the application of the theoretical approach andprovide appropriate solutions in order to find a way to the green and sustainabledevelopment of urban development.Firstly, according to the reality that MSW is mainly collected in the mixed way, thispaper points out that that the approach of integrated treatment is to be promoted in ourcountry and proposes such a method of using supply chain management from a globalperspective to solve the problems in MSW disposal. Then, the feasibility of implementingsupply chain management in MSW integrated disposal industry is studied in this paper andit is proved that in this industry to implement supply chain management is necessary andfeasible. Based on the conclusion a general MSW integrated disposal supply chain isconstructed. After that, the MSW integrated disposal supply chain modeling is studied bythe method of Petri nets and the corresponding sub-models of the supply chain membersare constructed. Based on this, taking Beijing Asuwei MSW integrated treatment plant asan example, this paper establishes the integrated disposal process model using generalizedstochastic Petri nets; then, the bottleneck in the process and the problems of excessivelandfill are analyzed and several methods are given in order to improve the inner operationof the plant. Then, the model of the MSW integrated disposal supply chain is establishedby hybrid Petri net and the operation of the supply chain is simulated; some methods aregiven according to the simulation results that the bio-compost inventory continues goes high. At last, some management advices and measures are given in order to improve theMSW disposal situation in Beijing.
