Perform Applied Research System Huaiyin Cigarette Manufacturing Plant

In recent years, with the continuing and deepening reform of the management system of China’s tobacco industry, China Tobacco Jiangsu Industrial Co., Ltd. has achieved centralized management of its subordinating cigarette factories. And Huaiyin Cigarette Factory has become a production site of China Tobacco Jiangsu Industrial Co., Ltd. After the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" technology reform, Huaiyin Cigarette Factory has established loose tobacco processing line control system, logistics automation system, cigarette packet data collection system, power and energy management and control system, etc., and has adopted the company’s standard ERP system. However, to effectively collect, analyze, and manage the process data of each information system has been a consistent weak link of Huaiyin Cigarette Factory’s production management. Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a rapid-developing, workshop management-oriented computer information system. MES is on the execution level in between the planning level and the shop floor control system. MES puts equal importance to planning and execution. With regard to the reality of enterprise production management, the construction and application of MES is an effective problem-solving method.This paper, integrating the advanced management concept of MES and the practical situation of Huaiyin Cigarette Factory’s production management, presents in-depth analysis on Huaiyin Cigarette Factory’s current production management and informatization and detailed research on the factory’s demand for MES, and offers Huaiyin Cigarette Factory with a MES solution.
