Therefore, the impact of economicgrowth on environmental quality in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, to fullyreveal the depth reasonable protection of the ecological environment, to providereasonable recommendations on the future of environmental protection, and hasimportant significance.At first, the relationship between economic growth and environmental quality ofexisting research under review the theoretical basis of the theory of sustainabledevelopment, environmental Kuznets curve theory, the theory of externalities, theanalysis of economic growth affect the quality of the environment, economies of scale,structure effect technical effects, and to study the impact of opening up the positiveand negative effects on the quality of the environment.Secondly, to the upper reaches of the Yangtze River as the research object, thestatus quo on economic growth and environmental quality of the in-depth study.Finally, the combination of these theoretical knowledge and the collected data,the use of various statistical analysis methods and quantitative analysis methods totest the impact of economic growth on environmental quality in the upper reaches ofthe Yangtze River region.Time series data analysis showed that the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, inthe1990-2011sample periods, industrial wastewater, and per capita GDP showed aweak positive U-shaped curve, industrial emissions and industrial solid waste percapita GDP rendered weak inverted U-shaped curve, and are in the left half.Panel data studies have shown that the upper reaches of the Yangtze River regionindustrial wastewater emissions showing a positive U-shaped relationship with percapita GDP relationship. Upper Yangtze industrial waste gas, and solid wasteemissions and per capita GDP relationship is showing positive U-shaped curverelationship. Opening up to the outside world there are certain negative impact effecton the quality of the environment.Optimize the industrial structure, change the mode of development. To strengthenthe monitoring of the water environment and sound basin water pollutionimprovement mechanism. Reducing energy consumption and strict control ofpollutant emissions of the exhaust gas.
