Researching the patterns of Nanjing brocade can promote the inheritance and development of Nanjing brocade, also enrich the Chinese brocade industry research information, and make a contribution to the inheritance and promotion of Chinese traditional culture.Based on Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade as the research object, this paper expounds the four aspects:Firstly sorting Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade from the two aspects of the material and the style of decorative pattern; Secondly, analysing the social meanings of Nanjing brocade pattern; Thirdly, the analysis of Nanjing brocade pattern from five aspects of material, weaving tools, geographical environment, service object and craft restriction and concluded that the characteristics of Nanjing brocade; The last part of the paper tells the story of the development of innovation of Nanjing brocade in recent years. Through analyzing the Nanjing brocade pattern for the above several aspects, it proved that Nanjing cloud-pattern brocade should not only been protected, but should been innovated and developed on the basis of this. Only after that, Nanjing cloud-pattern can go to the world, and become our Shared world cultural heritage.
