Adaptive camouflage is a camouflage technology that, when the photoelectric properties of natural environment changes, the camouflage system can independently response and control its photoelectric parameters, achieve integration with the environment. Due to the limitations of traditional paint and immature of new luminous materials available, perfect adaptive camouflage system is still difficult to achieve just with them. Using existing mature light-emitting devices, based on the principle of spectrum brightness compensation, we proposed a new method of adaptive camouflage technology, and constructed a principle prototype system of adaptive camouflage.By overviewing some methods of camouflage, and conducting in-depth research on the principles and technologies of adaptive camouflage, we developed an overall design scheme of adaptive camouflage with luminescence wave bands combination scheme and spectrum brightness compensation technology. According to application requirements, technical indicators of camouflage system and relevant parameters of the various parts of the equipment were fixed. The physical model of the spectrum brightness compensation and compensation formula was created. The combination scheme of luminescence wave bands and the layout of the compensation light were designed. The compensation amount of per unit area and compensation indicators expressed as luminance contrast was fixed. The "red edge" and near-infrared wave band LED were chosen as light-emitting devices of the system. The structure and packing way of the light-emitting unit was designed. Renesas MCU R5R0C02was chosen to process the environment information collected and generate the drive signal. Then the whole system was designed. We completed the selection and design of various parts and components, as well as assembly and commissioning of the full aircraft. After a testing program of principle prototype and assessment specification of test results being designed, we tested and evaluated the overall compensation effect of the camouflage systems. The results showed that our principle prototype achieved the expected design requirements, and verified the feasibility and effectiveness of adaptive camouflage technology based on spectrum brightness compensation.
