The thesis conducts a research on the Geographic Information System (GIS) and the GIS application on Electric power system. Design the structure and the functions of Electric power GIS system, the database of Electric power network system. This paper points out that the present network modeling method may not be suitable because the specific structure of distribution network and the requirements of the distribution application software are not considered. Then a new modeling method and the database structure suitable for distribution network are proposed. Finally, with the purpose of Electric power network information management, employing Geographic Information System, design and realize a Electric power GIS System and have been implemented in Hejian Electric power MIS System in Hebei Province.
