3D visualization technology got rapid development in recent years, the related research and exploration are also ongoing, and achieved good results.3D visualization technology has penetrated into many areas, the3D visualization simulation of meteorological environment is one of the new direction and its new technologies and new applications emerge unceasingly. The simulation of clouds is an important part of3D visualization simulation of meteorological environment, and applied in many virtual scenes, the visual simulation of cloud has been a research hotspot.In this paper, the visualization simulation of clouds based on the meteorological satellite cloud information data. In this way, we can increase the scientific of the simulation and the practical application value of the research is also greatly improved. According to the size of the scenario, using different methods to show the clouds. Throughout the earth scene, the images of clouds are used to simulate, we use "FY-2" meteorological satellite to obtain the infrared satellite cloud images, get3D information from gray cloud images. Then build their spatial triangle grid model, load on the digital earth, with time-drive, realize the dynamic3D display of cloud. However, cloud particles are used in local scenarios to simulate3D clouds. We use the CloudSat satellite obtain the vertical structure information of cloud, and collaborate with relevant satellite, get the3D space information of cloud. For3D simulation, including modeling and rendering, using cellular automata combined with particle system method to build3D model of the clouds, generating realistic cloud and reduces the computational complexity at the same time. Considering the light source and view angle to calculate lighting effects, clouds illumination model are computed. And we use all kinds of simplified technology to accelerate the building and rendering of cloud model. In the premise of guarantee the effect, try to reduce computing consumption and improve efficiency.In the part of the implementation effect, this paper use the infrared satellite cloud images and the data obtained by CloudSat over North China, analysis to obtain the useful3D information. Using these data for visualization simulation, and load on the digital earth, solving the problem about relevant coordinate transformation in the digital earth, ultimately achieve the desired effect.
