Flood Damage Assessment Based On Spatial Information Grid

Floods disaster frequent invasion of human society, it caused economic iosses is more serious, use accurate flood damage assessment model assess of the economic losses is imperative.Our country’s flood damage assessment model exist some problem on current including impractical, inaccurate, not common use and so on.How to use modern technology quickly and accurately assess the losses caused by floods is the problem we must need to resolve.As the research focus of the international IT-Spatial Information Grid, provides us a new way of establishing flood damage assessment model.The paper first describes the classification of flood losses and the various types of losses calculation model, flood losses are divided into life losses, natural ecology losses and socio-economic losses.Research and determine the various types of losses’s variables and parameters;selection Geodatabase data organization in ArcGIS processing data organization of Spatial Information Grid.The spatial Information Grid is composed of the flood character grid and socio-economic spread grid, according to the required of calculate flood losses’s variables and parameters, the flood character grid is polygom feature class with the elevation, water depth, water velocity and the degree of water pollution field in the Geodatabase, socio-economic spread grid is polygom feature class with land-use types, economic density, area, loss rate field in the Geodatabase,and select Intersect overlay analysis methods to generate the Spatial Information Grid which processes flood damage assessment; and then according to this establish the flood damage assessment model based on Spatial Information Grid;At last using C#and ArcEngine development the application of the flood damage assessment model based on Spatial Information Grid.Use C#and ArcEngine implement the flood damage assessment model based on Spatial Information Grid is not only can process the flood damage assessment and possess application value due to the operation is simple, but so it provides a new method for flood damage assessment.
