A Study On Linxia Human Development

Human Development Index is an important indicator to measure social development. It includes not only economic growth, but also the healthy life and the ability to acquire knowledge.It is an integrated index that manages to measure regional social development level, and is comparable among regions. Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture has a backward economic and social development; therefore, research on human development within the region is greatly significant for its development.In this paper, the Human Development Index, measuring the level of human development in2000-2011in Linxia, indicates that the level of human development in the past12years stays relatively low, but the potentiality is large. Compared to the human development of Gansu Province, the development of Linxia is even lower than the general level, and the gap is gradually increasing. Finally the paper combines the eco-environmental indicators to correct the level of human development of2009, the revised data is smaller than the original level, indicating the ecological environment of Linxia is getting further deterioration.The suggestions to improve the level of human development can be given by the calculation conclusion. Firstly, the population must be controlled to improve the level of life; Secondly increasing the investment in public health to improve the health conditions; Thirdly, improving the development of education, fully implementing the basic national policy of population control; Finally reversing the development mode, focusing on the sustainable development of the economy.
