Research On Cultural And Life Circumstances Of New Generation Migrant Worker

Since reform and opening up, along with the city’s rapid economic development, a large number of rural workers pour into the city. In recent years, with "replacement or upgrading" of migrant workers, new generation of migrant workers gradually steps on the stage, and has gradually become mainstream of these groups. They have been working hard and made great contributions to accelerate industrialization and urbanization and build up a harmonious society.This thesis, through analysis on living situation like low salary, poor living conditions and low living standard of new generation, sums up the influences and constraints that the new generation migrant workers face in the cultural life from all aspects. Migrant workers, in the process of enjoy cultural life, face constraints and influences by material conditions, institutional factor, self factor, as well as social and environmental factor. In terms of material conditions including income level, living environment and cultural facilities,.these above are the fundamental constraints; institutional factor dual-household-registration system, employment system and social security system is the political obstacle that new generation have to face in cultural life; self factor such as education background, psychological conditions, ideas and behavior is the main obstacles restricting migrant workers’cultural life; social and environmental factor including social discrimination, poor social concern and impact of negative cultures, these above fundamentally restrict the cultural life of new-generation migrant workers.In order to strengthen cultural life construction of new-generation migrant workers, the Party and the government should further improve efforts in cultural life of migrant workers. Along with improving household registration system, employment training and service management system, they should along spare no effort to improve social security system and education system. The Party and the government should present more preferential policy supports in this field and play a leading role in all aspects concerning cultural life of new-generation migrant workers.New generation migrant workers as main part of cultural life, should try to overcome their own shortcomings, further improve educational background, ideological quality as well as psychological quality while enhancing the sense of participation and protecting themselves though legal means. At the same time, employers should make a difference in this field; trade unions should organize and protect workers orderly; mass media should play a role as a monitoring and guiding body. In the process of improving cultural quality for new-generation migrant workers, we must take action in accordance with their actual situation, try to work in an accurate and effective manner so as to meet the needs of new generation migrant workers for a multi-level cultural life.
