The Vocal Music Art Aesthetic Inquiry Of WangZhixin’s New Folk Song Adaptation

Today’s society is experiencing rapid development of technology, changing economy and spanking cultural blend. This multi-cultural blend of wave impacts on people’s lifestyle, thinking pattern, and also affect people’s aesthetic ideas, the aesthetic need of national vocal music works inspires a number of outstanding composers. Wang Zhixin, a famous composer of China, is one of the representatives. He put his lifelong effort into the creation of national vocal music works, and with his rich musical wisdom he cleverly combined ethnic treasures with time qualities, and blended the thick flavor of national vocal music works together with modern charm, hence creating large vocal works involving great artistic beauty without losing the ethnic essence.This paper consists of three parts, the first part introduces the overview of Wang Zhixin’s adaptation of new folk songs and the history of traditional Chinese folk songs. The second part focused on three classical transcriptions of Wang Zhixin, which were " The Orchid ","Meng-Jiang Girl", and "Red Peach Blossom and White Apricot", aiming to sort out the comprehensive development of the contexts, and profoundly analyze the melodic development, musical structure, tonality, accompaniment form, emotional processing, and finally sum up the artistic characteristics of Wang Zhixin’s new folk songs. Then combined with personal vocal learning experiences, this paper explored the artistic beauty of adapted new folk songs from three aspects including lyrics, melody and singing. Starting from the perspective of time, the third part analyzed the impact of Wang Zhixin’s adaptation of new folk songs on the development of Chinese ethnic vocal arts development, and affirmed the reality and era significance of Wang Zhixin’s research on new folk song transcriptions.
