Exploration On Emotionalized Design Of Books

With the improvement of the science and technology, and endless emergingof various advanced production printing technologies, people have shown higherpursuit for the book design. At the same time of pursuing the material demands,people also show higher requirements for the spirit quality. Under such tendency,the book designers face the problem about how to update the old and new designconcepts, adopt new design concept to explore the future book development,combine the formal beauty and expression beauty of the books together, andcreate books with “vigorous life”. Meanwhile, a batch of domestic pioneerdesigners, represented by Lv Jingren, put forward new ideas, such as “the bookdesign should step to the integrated design from binding”,“design for thereaders”, etc. Under such condition, the emotionalized design of the books cameinto being.This paper starts from the concept of emotionalized design, takes the threemajor levels of Don Norman’s emotionalized design as the basis, and carries outanalysis and research on the book design. Besides, it integrates the instinctdesign, behavior design, and introspection level of the emotionalized designwith the sense experience of the book design, reading psychology, and cultural inheritance. Moreover, it tries to analyze and research the emotional experienceof the book emotionalized design from different levels.The key point of this paper is to carry out case analysis and research on thepaper books, electronic books and concept books by means of the emotionalizeddesign based on the classification, discuss how to apply the emotionalizeddesign method into the book design, adopt new design language to make thebooks possess the features of form and spirit unity, arouse the readers’ emotions,and improve the book design into the demands of emotion.
