Berbers is an ethnic group in Maghreb which owns a large number of populations, also, are an old resident of North Africa. The history of Berbers is an organic part of the Maghreb development history. Historically, they haven’t founded an independent kingdom or nation-states in its true sense. Berbers are studied by the foreign scholars, such as Arabic, French and American scholars while rare in China. Therefore, the author attempts to regard some countries as a case, to draw the outline of Maghreb Berber developmental trajectories and discusses its historical evolution.Text part includes four chapters. Chapter three involves ethnic identity change of Berber, which analyzes the reason of the weakening of ethnic identity, put forward the way of strengthening ethnic identity, reorganize the inner motivation of the ethnic group reinforcement of Maghreb Berbers, and discusses the problem of what Berbers should do in the history and the dialectical relationship between national identity and ethnic identity of them. Conclusion part covers four contents. First of all, make a summary of the history of the Maghreb Berber; highlight its historical important position of Maghreb development in the history. Secondly, summarize Berber problem and the reason why the ethnic identity problem can become increasingly fierce. Finally, the dialectical relationship between national identity and ethnic identity is not reciprocal opposites, but should be correlative dependence and influence each other.
