Study Of Li Zhi’s Literary Thought

Li Zhi is not only an important ideologinist and historinist in the later part of Ming Dynasty, but also an important literatus. At his early age, he taught by his father. He began to study the theory of life and death about humanity when he worked at an official position. Then he was arranged for magistrate of a prefecture at Yaoan, Yunnan province. At this age, he began to contact with Buddhism. As a part of his ideology, his literary thought——theory of Innocence Mind is the core part, presents open properties following the ideological development. In Li Zhi’s mind, truth is the essence of literature, the innocence mind is the carrier of humanity. Study Li Zhi’s literary thought, we must study the concept of true in his mind. He define the true as the core factor. He defined the creation without any blocks as aesthetic standard. He defined the expression of true emotion as literary function. In the progress of literature creation, he put the "true" to the core position. In the creation of poetry, comment on Chinese traditional opera, comprehend and aesthetic literature, Li Zhi’s literary thought is connected with the innocence mind——ensure the definition of ego, and express the true feelings. The connection of literature eommention and literature theory, build Li Zhi’s holistic viewpoint.The thought of innocence mind also influence the literary mind in the later of Ming Dynasty. Yuan Hongdao’s Disposition Theory, Tang Xianzu’s Supreme Emotions, obviously, are all related to the innocence mind. Disposition Theory inherited the part of true humanity, and supreme emotions inherited the part of true emotion.The introduction generalizes domestic and international research in the20th century, at the same time, it explicates the point of departure and the method of this thesis. The thesis main part consists four parts. The first part, from two aspects, home environment in childhood and world experience, the second part explains the causes of Li Zhi’s literary thought. The second part analyses the innocence mind, and explains the underlying connection of innocence mind and literary thought. The third part which from two aspects, essence of literary thought and creation goal, to read the literary thought of Li Zhi. The forth part explain literary aesthetics of Li Zhi. The conclusion part discusses the characteristics and the study value of LiZhi’s literary thought. The sixth part is conclusion.
