A Study Of Li Zhi’s Historical Thought On 《CangShu》

This thesis mainly explores 《Cang Shu》 and Li Zhi’s historical thought,through the study of 《 Cang Shu 》,this thesis investigates Li Zhi’s view of history and historiography connotation peculiarity of 《Cang Shu 》.《Cang Shu 》 is a joint presentation of historical masterpieces and literary works.In the process of exploring his historical thoughts,we can see the display of his "childlike innocence".Li Zhi supported the idea of "childlike innocence" and completed the historical work《Cang Shu》.What kind of history visage is unfolding in the book?Or what kind of life feelings?How to view historical figures and historical events?This paper will discuss these questions one by one and drew the general outline of Li Zhi’s historical thought.Li Zhi is a highly controversial thinker.The writing background of 《Cang Shu》was a time of social change.Therefore the significance of 《Cang Shu》,In addition to his personal consciousness,but also has a deep reflection and criticism of the society.The 《Cang Shu》 began to be written in the 10 th year of Wanli(1582),and it took 17 years before it was published.As a work published in his later years,Li Zhi reviewed historical books and turned his thoughts and reflections on the times into a work for the reference of the contemporaries.He praised and criticized hundreds of people of ancient and modern times based on his own right and wrong,setting off a surprising wave in the age of ideological shackles.《Cang Shu》,by its criticism of historical figures,showed their reaction to the society at that time,and put forward the idea of "the unity of virtue and behavior".It believed that the positioning of historical figures depended on their achievements,and that "saving literature by unaffected" was an effective way to break away from the historical cycle.Li Zhi searched for a way to settle down in history.After experiencing numerous "doubts" and "breakthrough" of history,he understood the track of history and presented the construction of the "Ideal Zhenguan" based on it.No matter what Li Zhi’s historical evaluation was,Li Zhi’s free from prejudice on history opened up a new thought against feudalism for scholars in the late Ming Dynasty and later periods.Although his intention is far-reaching,but because of this book touched the authority of the government,was impeached and arrested in prison,finally committed suicide in prison.The full text is divided into five parts.The first part "introduction" :explains the significance,content and methodology of the research.In chapter 1 "Li Zhi and his thoughts and literary theory" :through understanding Li Zhi’s life,discusses his development of thought,then explore his ideological practice in literature.In chapter 2 "Li Zhi’s 《Cang Shu》and its writing background" :understand the late Ming social background,then further discusses the development of historiography in Ming Dynasty and the historiography connotation of Li Zhi’s《Cang Shu》.In chapter 3 "The view of history reflected in 《Cang Shu》" :explore Li Zhi’s historical observations and comments to understand his view of history.In chapter 4 "conclusion" :discusses the characteristics of Li Zhi’s view of history.
