| Social anxiety refers to showing persistent fear when speaking with others, giving public speech or being focused. An important feature of social anxiety is the fear of negative evaluations. Numerous studies have confirmed its remarkable attention to threat information and negative evaluations (negative attention tendency) and avoidance; However, As to the attention tendency to friendly information and positive evaluations (positive attention tendency), people hold different opinions. This paper investigates high anxiety individual’s attention tendency to the face of positive expression based on previous studies. It put forward a theoretical model to explore the mechanism of this attention tendency and make the preliminary test through empirical research. The study subjects are60college students (48subjects were valid), The experimental material is the pictures of Chinese facial expression drawn up by Luo Yuejia. The study includes two experiments:The first one uses mixed experimental design, Namely, two (types tested:high and low social anxiety group)×2(probe position: the same side with positive facial expression, the opposite side with positive facial expression)×2(stimulus presentation time:100ms,500ms). It studies the social anxiety’s attention tendency to positive facial expression. The second experiment uses mixed experimental design, Namely, two (types tested: high and low social anxiety group)×2(probe position: the same side with competitive words, the opposite side with competitive words). It studies the competitive anxiety level and negative evaluation expectation after social anxiety individual shows positive facial expression. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Stimulating presentation time will impact the social anxiety individual’s attention tendency to positive expression, They will show vigilance and easy separation to positive facial expression in a relatively short period of time (100ms) While they show a tendency to avoidance in the condition of longer presentation time(500ms).(2)High-anxiety individuals have higher anxiety level to competition after receiving the stimulation of positive pictures.(3)High-anxiety individuals have higher fear level of negative evaluation after receiving the stimulation of positive pictures. |
