Language is an important tool for recording culture, and is a vital part of culture.The goal of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is to cultivate foreign learners toobtain communicative ability in real environment. As a result, in recent years, theimportance of cultural course is featured. I found some primary-level learners hadsome difficulties ordering food when I was teaching them Chinese as a Chineseteacher during the past few years. In order to help the learners know Chinese culturebetter and use Chinese fluently, I made some research about Chinese cooking culture,especially name of dishes.The paper can be departed into four parts, as to:The first part is chapter1, introduction and chapter2, Chinese food culturehistory and related researches. Chapter1mainly talks about the study cause andbackground. And it states the meaning of the paper from the aspect of linguistics,culturology and foreign language teaching. Chapter2chiefly introduces Chinese foodhistory and related views and works. The second part is chapter3, the analysis ofname of dishes from textbook for teaching Chinese as a second language. This is theheart of the article and it’s the theoretical basis to apply the result to teachingarrangement. In the third part, it proposes teaching idea and applies the results to thepractice. Part4is chapter5, conclusion. It concludes the trial of the paper and alsopoints out the deficiency. I hope I can make it better in the future research.
