Based on previous studies, the paper aims to survey College students’ Time Managementstatus, to explore the relationship between time management and adaptability,to verify theeffect of group counseling for college students to improve time management ability. Withsurvey and experimental methods, Release500"Adolescence Time Management DispositionScale(ATMD)" and "Chinese College Student Adjustment Scale(CCSAS)" questionnaire inShenyang Normal University and in Jishou University. Recovered432valid questionnaires.Correlation analysis of the data indicates that college students’ scores of ATMD and CCSAS andeach dimensionalities are significantly related. ATMD can predict CCSAS, especiallyadaptability of campus life and study.Within the intervention research, we recruited30subjects from Shenyang NormalUniversity to join in time management group counseling. The counseling consisted of8Units,2hours of each, lasting2month. Executing posttest after2months of the counseling.Independent samples t-test of ATMD results shows that experimental group scores significantlyimproved, time control dimension and time efficacy dimension significantly improved, and theimprovement of the dimension of time value is not significant. Paired samples t-test of ATMDscores results showed that before the intervention trial, experimental group was homogeneouswith control group, after the intervention trial the experimental group and the control group weresignificantly different. Inference: Time Management counseling resulted in improvement ofATMD score. Independent samples t-test of adjustment results shows that the total score ofCCSAS and in addition to self-adjust dimension other dimensions were significantly different.Paired samples t-test of CCSAS scores results showed that before the intervention trial, experimental group was homogeneous with control group, after the intervention trial theexperimental group and the control group were significantly different. Inference: collegestudents’ Time Management interventions have improved their adaptation level.Experimental results show that the time management group counseling is an effective wayto improve college students’ time management skills.
