Pan Guoliang, as the national first level actor, holds the position ofdeputy head of Meihu Troupe of Linfen City, Shanxi Province. He actsthe roles of elder male, clowns and young male which is his specialty.In order to develop Meihu art, he tried to write alid rehearse newoperas. In the process of his career development, he accumulated awealth of traditional opera culture and rich experiences of stageperformance and eventually formed his own performingcharacteristics, such as free-stylistic, vivid, simple and natural,delicate and appealing with his mellow voice. Through his30-yearartistic practice, he created lots of characters of different age anddifferent types. Such as Wang Quan in Two Women and One Man, NiuGengtian in Father、Gao Xiumino In the Village Official, etc. In hisperforming, these characters left a deep impression to the audience.It is Pan Guoliang’ s hard working,traditional culture inheritance,creative spirit that show us so many good works.Through the real record of Pan’s art road, the comprehensive anddetailed materials collection, and systematic analysis, this paperaims to research Pan Guoliang’ s performing arts characteristics interms of his art life, performing operas, performing characteristicsand his contribution to the art inheritance. This research on Pan Guoliang’s performing art wH丨be included in Meihu performing artsresearch system, and supply some valuable references to Meihuperforming studies.In this paper, started from the art life of Pan Guoliang, hisperforming art and troupe management are analyzed and expoundedin depth. The paper is divided into four parts: the first part is thedetailed records of Pan’s art road. And the reason of his growing in theMeihu art development is also explained. The second part is mainly onthe overview of Pan’s representative operas and a brief introductionto the13representative of his works, including stage, Meihu TVseries and movies. The third part is about Pan’s performing arts,focusing on his overall style of the performing arts from his singingfeatures and characters of different roles. The last part is about histroupe management. His management approach is analyzed throughthe summary of his management experiences.
