Theoretical Research On Forms Of Vocal Performance And Aesthetic Characteristic Of Jin Nan Meihu Opera Art

The art of opera integrates singing,performance and stage art.It is a comprehensive art,a product of the long-term development of social life and a combination of historical,national and regional factors.It is a creative reflection of people’s lives and the product of cultural exchange and integration.The evolution of opera art can be affected by the political and economic factors during different periods.Vice versa,it can also impact to a certain degree on both national and regional political and economic development.Since ancient times,people in Jinnan region have loved opera art deeply.In the mid-Qing dynasty,Meihu operas were created in both Mei and Hu counties in Shaanxi Province,and then were introduced into Jinnan during the process of economic and cultural exchanges.Gradually,it was internalized by local ethnicity factors and formed to Jinnan Meihu.The form and the scale of Jinnan Meihu has experienced evolution from simple to complex;from folk opera groups to form organizations such as the two leading companies-Linyi County Meihu Theater Company and the Linfen City Meihu Theater Company.Jinnan Meihu Theater has endured a torrent of history allowing a gradual development process.Jinnan Meihu,is an enduring opera art in the Jinnan area,with singing and acting is its main form of expression,and the performance formreflects the regional characteristics of Jinnan area,in line with the popular aesthetic of the people of Jinnan area,and is one of the precious spiritual and cultural wealth of the people in Jinnan.The inheritance of traditional culture has always been a hot topic.The reform and opening-up policy in China have introduced western cultures to our young generation,and resulting in an influence on their lifestyle.This phenomenon could have also created issues leading to the potential extinction of our traditional cultures,such as Jinnan opera,as less young people have participated in opera art,especially regional ones like Jinnan Meihu.Consequently,there has not been enough theoretical research into Jinnan Meihu opera art,and it is difficult for us to guarantee that Jinnan Meihu opera art will still shine in even a few years.With this consideration,the thesis mainly conducts theoretical research on forms of the vocal performance and aesthetic characteristic of Jinnan Meihu opera art,aiming to abstractly support and supplement the previous research results of Jinnan Meihu opera art.The thesis is structured into four chapters,of which the second and the third chapter are the core chapters.The first chapter provides the essential elements of Jinnan Meihu drama,such as historical origin,opera singing structure and main repertoire classification.Chapter two studies the form of Jinnan Meihu drama on the performance level,includingvocal techniques,accompaniment bands and musical instruments,character decoration,body movement performance,etc.It also explains the two factors that can reflect the ethnic style and taste in this region-the dialect characteristics and tune techniques.Chapter three introduces the beauty of form,content and the art of Jinnan Meihu,conducting the research and analyzing the reasons for the "beauty" and "wonderfulness" of Jinnan Meihu.Chapter four discusses the inheritance methods,the repertoire arrangement and the functions of the Jinnan Meihu,and presents various effective methods and suggestions for local theater companies,governments and schools,with the hope that all these different channels can contribute their efforts in recognising Jinnan Meihu as a hugely valuable traditional opera art.
