The basic rules of phonetic alphabet orthography is the spelling principle of mandarinChinese, not only considering the syntax, semantics, phonetic principles but also the length ofthe word and psychological factors.This paper aims to deepen conscious of the spelling ofChinese by the way of word-type style writing and the capitalization of the proper nouns inorder to supply the possible suggestion concerning the spelling of proper nouns of Chinesetogether with giving the direction to how to spell the proper nouns in the dictionary.The introduction part says the paper research aims, significance, methods and scopes, italso involves the historical background of Chinese word-type style writing, trace the raceshistorical development of orthographic spelling. Finally this paper introduces the theoreticalachievements of the basic rules of phonetic alphabet orthography at present.The second chapter is a whole description of the basic rules of phonetic alphabetorthography, mainly with regard to the comprehensive introduction of the theoreticalknowledge applied in the practice.The third chapter is mainly about spelling of Place name the system of proper nouns. Thespelling of Place includes waters names, land names, administrative division, building names,and settlement of small class and so on.The fourth chapter is about the spelling of people names, and the main content includesChinese names, foreign names, and minority name spelling.The fifth chapter is about the spelling of book names.The content consists of newspapersand periodicals, books, title of article, name of the treaty, art name.The sixth chapter is spelling of organization name. The organization category mainlycomprises the names of the party, government agencies, social organizations, cause names,company name, services industry names.The seventh chapter is the description of the festival and event system. Because theamount of words in two types is less, so they combined into a chapter. The festival can bedivided into with and without tongming category and the event is divided into meetings,events, events, sports categories.The eighth chapter is the description of the other categories with so many other categoriesin small number of a collection, we discuss the corpus according to the amount of corpus in turn, it includes national, dynasty, surnames, religion, language, etc.The ninth chapter is the summary of whole text, including the main content of this article,research methods, the focus of the research and the spelling difficulties encountered inpractice.with presenting the deficiencies in this paper.
