Paper-cut is an important part of Chinese folk art, which enjoys a long history andwidespread. Jingbian paper-cut is a branch of northern Shaanxi paper-cut with unique artisticstyle and profound culture and is the combination of northern and southern style.theinterpenetration of farming culture, the nomadic culture and Jiangnan culture and isproduced under the feudal autocratic democracy, therefore, they put ideal, aesthetic andtemperament inside together with folk custom in the paper-cut to keep its strong localcharacteristics,which is the living cultural heritage of ethnic emotional symbol.Incontemporary, due to the acceleration of local industrialization and the impact of culturaldiversification on traditional culture, and many other factors, which led to the sharp shrink ofmass characteristics of Jingbian paper-cut, but its significance of existence is beyond doubt.The author makes analysis and research on the color, shape, composition and folk culturalcharacteristic of Jingbian paper-cut, so as to make further analysis on its graphic elements,and then makes it as the basic graphic language, to do the exploratory research of application onJingbian paper-cut and modern plane design, through the bucolic research, on-the-spotinvestigation, artist interviews, literature research, data collection and analyze, comb, andclassify its form, subject and function. The first part of the article summarizes the researchpurpose, significance, present situation and research methods; In the second part expounds thebackground, inheritance, technique and form classification of Jingbian paper-cut; The thirdpart discusses the unique "beauty" of Jingbian paper-cut through the combing and analysis ofits color, form and composition;The fourth part the analysis on the aesthetic connotation andcultural concept;The fifth part discusses the feasibility of integrating Jingbian paper-cutwith modern plane design and based on the theoretical research, the application of experimentaldesign, to seek a new way of thinking and expression of traditional art form from theperspective of modern design language.
