| This is a translation report of China, Internet Freedom, and U.S. Policy. Thesource text is chosen from the official website of CRS, which mainly introduce thecurrent conditions of Internet freedom in China, Chinese government’s policieslike Internet censorship, and U.S. efforts in promoting Internet freedom. Thistranslation of this report can offer more information concerning Internet freedomin China to the readers. The translation process is guided by the skopos theory andits three principles. By analyzing the typical examples in the target text, thetranslator has discussed how to ensure accuracy, objectivity and fidelity of thetarget text; adopt relevant translation skills and methods for different translationdifficulties; and conduct reflection and summarization concerning the handlingskills in the process. The translation project consists of4parts. Part1introducesthe background, the target, the significance and the structure of the project. Part2includes the analysis of the source text and the theoretical guidance through thetranslation. Part3presents the translation difficulties and relevant translationmethods in a detailed way, such as literal translation, splitting and wordconversion. The last part concludes the translation experience and unsolvedproblems. |
