It was more than a decade since China joined the World Trade Organization. With a profound participation in the international trade, various kinds of tradedisputes have taken place between China and other countries. Therefore, it isimportant for us to understand and study the principles and conventions in theinternational trade. It is a popular report on international trade rules, which is of aneducational significance to the students and scholars who study the international trade. It will also help the jobholders of international trade to conduct a further study, adopttheir advantages and avoid the shortcomings so as to strive for the maximum interestlegally and reasonably in the international trade. Since China joined the World TradeOrganization, colleges and universities have set up some majors and courses oninternational trade and nurtured a great amount of talents. During the teaching andlearning, we have noticed that there are some disadvantages in the books for reading.Except for the classical masterpieces such as the Principles of Economics written byN. Gregory Mankiw, textbooks and references for practices prove to be little in China. Moreover, due to the course arrangement, the books concerning to international tradeare too complex for the beginners, what they need are targeted books which can beeasily understand and related to the actual environment. As to the specialized peopleengaged in the international, some popular reports and books will enable them todeepen the understanding on international trade and help them to realize the problems. The light spot of the report is that with a clear structure, it illustrates from theeasy to the difficult. The names of the chapters directly draw attention from thereaders and leave them a deep impression. Moreover, some typical examples beinglisted and analyzed enable the readers to easily understand the Rules of Origin, one of the most important parts of the international trade, which is of a strong guidingsignificance. The most difficult thing during translating mainly lies in the translationof the long sentences and the specialized words. It is necessary to notice the logic ofthe translated version and the theme of the original text as well as the relatedknowledge. During translation, ways of metaphrase and paraphrase are used in theskopostheorie translation so as to illustrate the meaning of the original text. Afterfinishing translation, on one hand, I have realized my shortcomings in learning andusing translation theories, which requires a further study in the future. On the otherhand, I have acquired some specialized knowledge and method, which enables me toaccumulate more knowledge.
