With rapid development of China’s national economy, China has expandedexchanges and cooperation with other countries step by step. More and moreinterpreters are needed during the worldwide communication in the fields of economy,culture, science and technology. The author is grateful to have this valuableopportunity as an interpreter for the Prof. Liu Haimin on Chinese education subjectco-hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Northeast Normal University(NENU) in2013.This thesis is a reflective study based on the transcript manuscript after thetraining seminar. Specifically, the retrospective research is conducted by analyzing thetranscript and interpreting situation. By reviewing and reassessing it, the author canfigure out the merits and demerits of the interpreting performance and find out themost effective method to achieve a satisfying end. The essay, to a certain extent, is avaluable reference for further practice.This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter introduces background ofinterpreting task, including background information and task requirement. In secondchapter, the author analyzes the source text under linguistic and stylistic perspective.The third chapter is a quality analysis of the interpreting performance. The fourthchapter puts forward some doable suggestions to solve the problem. In conclusion, theauthor realizes the necessity to improve interpreting skill and knows the significanceof linguistic competence and extra-linguistic competence based on the analytic report. |
