The main purpose of studying foreign language is getting knowledge how to providecommunication; especially for beginners. It is very important from beginning keep studentsinterested in learning Chinese, to improve students’ communication skills, keep them involvedinto Chinese culture and create special Language Intuition.In China the storytelling technique is commonly used, but it was only within context ofTeaching English. This research aims at analyze the storytelling as a method within contextof Teaching Chinese to beginners. The storytelling as a teaching strategy helps students toimprove their communication skills. Besides, it has an important role in increasing thestudent’s level of motivation and interest, enjoyment and pleasure towards learning byoffering eaningful and rich input.Thus, an experimental test has been given to Korean students, who studying Chinese atthe beginning stage. Their responses have shown that the using of the storytelling has animportant role for improve communication skills in high schools.In Chapter1is shown reasons, purpose, significance and methods of research, alsoreview of previous related studies. The Chapter2consists of theoretical background of thestorytelling teaching method as a main strategy on Chinese language teaching. In the nextChapter3is given analyze of survey data and its discussion. In Chapter4-5author completesall results of questionnaire and doing conclusion of research.However, it is hoped that this technique of telling story can reduce the problems andchallenges of Chinese language education for foreigners.
