The Difference Of Two Kinds Of Transgression Processing Strategy Results Between Group Relations

Comparative Suffering Hypothesis and understanding hypothesis are two kinds ofdifferent processing methods hypothesis, comparative suffering hypothesis that whenoffenders either suffer the fate of the punishment or impose punishment will increase thevictim’s satisfaction, understanding hypothesis is that if the offender to understand whyrevenge was imposed upon him to increase satisfaction. Research indicates that, when the victim and the offender is the same groupmembers, the victim had shared value is threatened by the psychological concerns, the morallose emotion, thus more willing to choose the restorative justice to deal with transgressions;when the victim and the offender is affected out-group members the status/power threatenedpsychological concerns, the moral outrage, more willing to choose the punitive justice toachieve the goal of justice.This study examined that when there are the different relationships among participants,comparative suffering hypothesis and understanding hypothesis which let the victimsatisfaction. Study was conducted on three between-subjects experiment, the two experimentsthe angle from the victims, experiment three from the third party testing the perspective ofpeople more satisfied with what kind of hypothesis. Also, an important index of forgivenesstendency also restore fair, in this study also measured the tendency to forgive participantsviolations after treatment. In the experiment using the lexical decision task as the target toachieve an implicit measurement method, measurement of participants for the violation of therelated words and unrelated words relative acceptability.Results show that, facing the offender has a close relationship with themselves, peopleare more likely to have shared value concerns, resulting in lack of morality; and facing theoffender of no close relationship with themselves, people are more likely to produce status/power concern, moral emotion of anger. People feel more satisfied with the understandinghypothesis this processing method, and more willing to express the tendency to forgive, butbetween victims and offenders whether there is close relationship between the treatment effect on the equivalence of pain and information cognition two methods have important influence,victims of either treatment method for surface of foreign groups offenders are performed lowtendency to forgive and satisfaction level. When people violate an observer of the event,people show a violation of in-group give punishment to feel more satisfied, and foreigngroups of offenders in understanding conditions have higher satisfaction.
