Quality Management Of Outsourced Translation Projects Inside The Companies

It is universally acknowledged that companies generally prefer to have their owntranslation projects outsourced to translation agencies. However, to put it in China, theprospects of good quality of outsourced translation projects seem rather bleak sometimes.The root cause of it primarily lies in poor quality management of outsourced translationprojects. Under such circumstances, companies should act proactively to manage theiroutsourced translation projects in addition to their request for better translation servicesprovided by translation agencies. According to the author’s working experience during theinternship in a foreign-funded software company, the thesis probes into internal qualitymanagement of company’s outsourced translation projects. The thesis, based on Marcomoutsourced translation projects, studies the project process, features, and translationrequirements of Marcom outsourced translation projects, and then explores and analyzesthe ways inside the companies of quality management of outsourced translation projectsfrom the perspective of translation review and two-way communication. Moreover, thethesis mentions other non-regular measures for quality management. The thesis could beused for reference and instruction both for companies and for translation agencies.
