It is very necessary to use comparing when study the learningstrategies between Thailand and South Korea primary level learners. A report showsthe top two countries have most Confucius institutes in Asia are Thailand and SouthKorea; however, there is no research had compared learners between these twoCountries till now.The subjects of this study are the primary level learners from these twoCountries and the content of the theory is about the definition、classification and theeffectiveness of training, the research hotspots, the relationship between learningconcepts and learning strategies in second language learning. In experiment, it usethe learning concepts scale of Horwitz and learning strategies scale of Oxford tomade the questionnaires for investigating. Then analysis the the useful date oflearning concepts and learning strategies of spoken language, the relationship oflearning concepts and learning strategies by using SPSS16.0. After that, it sums upthe learning concepts and strategies which could improve learning efficiency andmade some suggestions for the future spoken language learning and teaching in bothCounties. In the end, it pointed out the shortcomings and made a prospect for thefuture research.Conclusions get from this study:1、In the academic circle, There are different opinions about the definition oflearning strategies as well as the classification and the effectiveness of training.2、Overall, nationality and age are the most important elements to affect thelearners’concepts and strategies.3、As for the learning concept, both two Countries has high recognitiondegree,especially for Thai learners. They all agree that good pronunciation andgreat knowledge of culture are important for speaking. The differences are Thailearners thought writing and reading are easier than listening and speaking, andlearning a target language is better in home Country than in target language Country, while South Korea learners are just have opposite opinion.4、In the6learning strategies, social and compensation strategies are thehighest frequency of use while metacognitive and memory strategies are least of use.The main differences are the emotion and cognitive strategies. The whole Thaiparticipants are not active to adopt the learning strategies, and the South Koreaparticipants show no initiative and they are overcautious to participate or createopportunities for interactive learning which will affect learning result.5、From the relationship of concepts and strategies, learning concepts canpredict the use of learning strategies.The author thinks the point to improve the spoken language of two Countries isthat the teachers need to guide the learners to have good learning concepts so thatthey can choose appropriate and effective learning strategies.
