In singing art, the timbre and emotion are auxiliary to each other, but they also two elements which are relatively independent and cannot replaced by each other. Timbre is the fundamental element of singing, and it is the foundation of forming singing style and music performance. While emotion is the soul of" singing. it is one of the most important factors that influence the quality of timbre and effect of singing. So in singing, choosing and changing the application of timbre should always revolved around the emotional expression of music works. Meanwhile the emotion expression can promote the development of timbre in different changes, and obtain the real artistic value in double backtracking of the timbre and emotion expression. As an important factor of forming singing personality, singing timbre is the carrier of emotion. So it should be selected, distinguished in singing, and make full use of the rich change of timbre to express the different feelings given by each note, then makes our singing more perfect.Huang Ying as the lyric coloratura soprano, opera performing artist, her singing have a high degree of individuality and characteristics. And the application of timbre, the performance of emotion are more incomparable and flawless, so she is praised as’The Nightingale of the East’.
