Based on the guidelines of Task-based Language Teaching and design principles, this paper provides the general principles about the task-based topic design in the TCFL intermediate spoken Chinese classes, Moreover, this paper designs15task-based topics that tailor international students current needs. Finally, questionnaires interviews are conducted. Strong and weak points of the task-based topic design are investigated.
