Under the background of globalization, countries try their best to learn others’ culture to improve their position. China has a very long history, and excellent culture. With the promotion of its status, more and more foreigners begin to study Chinese. As Chinese plays a very important role in the International Community, the influence of Chinese gradually magnified. TCFL is a process that the teachers impart the language knowledge and skill to their students. It is through the coordinate of teachers and students, and it is the main way of disseminate culture.Teaching Design is the production of instructional theory and teaching practice; the bridge of knowledge; the process of systematize the instructional theory. In this paper, the author analyzes and summarizes the previous studies on the teaching design of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, as well as the research status and theory of listening teaching. The teaching design of intermediate Chinese listening is discussed by the method of task based teaching. The principles and steps of the implementation of the task teaching method are also analyzed and sorted out. Through the study of these theories, the author has a certain understanding of the teaching of listening and the task of teaching. By the opportunity of internship in International Exchange Institute of Hebei Normal University, I accomplished the teaching design of Custom and Taboo. In this lesson, there are two topics Custom and Taboo, they relate to the life of overseas students. And the students are very interested in Customs and Taboos. Based on the content of the text, some tasks are introduced, hoping that the students can use the knowledge while they done their tasks. It turned out that:the students like use the task-based teaching method, they think it is more interesting than others. At last, they get a well goal in the final exam.The paper is divided into five parts as following:The first part is the introduction. To introduce the research background, the significance of the study and the content. And it summed up the predecessors’ theory of teaching design, TCFL and task-based teaching method.The second part is task-based teaching method, such as the theoretical basis of task-based teaching method, the characteristics of task-based teaching method applied in TCFL, and the principle of task-based teaching method.The third part is teaching design of custom and taboo analysis based on the concept of task-based teaching method.The fourth part is specific of teaching design of custom and taboo and teaching feedback.
