The theory of mind has become important in field of cognitive development inrecent years.Many researchers began to study school-age children’S theory of mind.Children’S theory of mind development is influenced by many factors.The familyfactor is one of the very important factor. With the rapid economic development ofsociety,many parents has gone to work in the urban.A large number of specialgroup-rural left-over children have emerged in rural areas.There was little research torural left-over children’s theory of mind development at the present research.This article mainly researches the relationship between the rural left-overchildren’s theory of mind and social action and friendship quality.tasks. There were260persons in total selected in this research,including effective test for246people.The age all selected persons are eight to thirteen. Using test method,and data statisticanalysis by SPSS16.0statistical software, we made the descriptive analysis anddifference inspection to the data.Study results are as follows:1.The general development features of the rural left-over children’s theory ofmind:(1)The rural left-over children’s theory of mind increase quickly as children’sgrade.These children in Grade Six has been rising rapidly.(2)The rural left-over children’s theory of mind has significant difference ingender. Girls’ scores are higher than boys in the fields of the total score.(3)The rural left-over children’s theory of mind has little significant differencebetween the single child and the child who has brothers or sisters.The total scores ofchildren with brothers or sisters are a little higher than others.(4)The rural left-over children’s theory of mind in different type has littlesignificant difference.Theory of Mind of these children who’s father having gone towork in urban are higher than those children who’s mother and parents having gone to work in urban.(5)Different aspects of the rural left-over children’s theory of mind has significantdifference.such as the gender,the grade and the different type of rural left-overchildren.2.There is significant correlation-ship between Theory of Mind and friendshipquality of the rural left-over children.3.There is significant correlation-ship between Theory of Mind and pro-socialbehavior of the rural left-over children.4.Theory of Mind of the rural left-over children has significant correlation-shipbetween the pro-social behavior and friendship quality.
