With the spectacular development of China’s economy and the continuous development of China’s Chinese education cause for foreigners, an increasing number of countries have Chinese classes, establish Confucius Institutes, and encourage their people to learn Chinese. Since2001, more and more schools in Thailand have opened Chinese course, and an increasing number of people learn Chinese. Also, many universities have set up Chinese major or take Chinese as an optional course. It can be said that Thailand is one of the most representative countries in the global trend of "Chinese Fever".The relationship between China and Thailand could be traced back to the ancient Western Han Dynasty, and Thailand is close to China. In nearly two centuries, Thai has absorbed a large number of Fujian dialects and the official language of Thailand is Thai, which belongs to Dong-Tai language family of Kradai language, so Thai is similar to Chinese. However, language is ethnic and systematic, and especially communicative languages have different characteristics in different countries. So, it is very necessary to study the difference between Chinese and Thai in terms of common daily communicative expressions.This paper summarizes the characteristics of address forms, greetings, compliments and acknowledgements in daily communicative expressions of Chinese and Thai, compares the difference between both languages, analyzes causes of difference between both communicative languages, and summarizes the application of communicative principles in daily communicative expressions. Based on this, the author uses the quantitative analysis method to survey the application condition of Chinese students and Thai students in terms of address forms, greetings, compliments and acknowledgements. As a result, there is difference between Chinese students and Thai students in application of common daily communicative expressions including address forms, greetings, compliments and acknowledgements.In terms of address forms, Chinese students always use the form of "family name+occupation" for professionals, while Thai students always use the address pattern of "name+occupation". In terms of greetings, Chinese students would greet according to specific time and place etc, while Thai students would say "hello" generally and simply. For compliments, Chinese students would generally deny others’compliments modestly, while Thai students show a neither denied nor affirmative attitude, but mostly smile shyly. For using acknowledgements, Chinese students use complex acknowledgement ways such as praises, commitments, concern and apology, while Thai students often use "thanks" with appropriate honorifics according to "age and seniority". Based on questionnaires, the author proposes teaching strategies for Thai communicative expressions. In addition, the author sorts and analyzes two practical teaching cases in Thailand, in order to provide reference for Chinese teachers in Thailand in terms of daily communicative expression teaching in the future.
