Shahe dialect belongs to Zhongyuan Mandarin. Current research mainly focuseson the description of individual language phenomena which are mall in number andsterile in content. Little attention is paid on systematic and specialized study. In theframework of typology, structuralism and functional grammar, the paper studiesadverbs, pronouns, affixes and aspects in Shahe dialect respectively, trying to presentan overall picture of morphology in Shahe dialect from different perspectives. Themain contents are as follows:1. Brief introduction of the culture and dialect in Shahe is given. Current researchoutcomes are also included, which is the foundation of the following study onmorphology.2. About adverb. Analysis on views about definition of adverbs, grammaticalfeatures as well as the contradiction between existing opinions are presented inthis paper, providing theoretical basis for the following study on classification ofadverbs. Special attention is paid on the adverbial phenomena which is unique inShahe dialect in combination with materials in hand and the author’s own researchoutcomes.3. About pronouns. Based on the theories of Structuralism and functional grammar,this paper studies the classification of pronouns in order to give a detaileddescription of pronouns which are unique in Shahe dialect.4. About affixes and quasi-affixes.The paper classifies the affixes and quasi-affixesin Shahe dialect on the basis of nature of affixes, properties of affixes and affixjudgment standards. As for those controversial parts, reclassification is made topresent an overall picture of affixes in Shahe dialect.5. About aspect markers.Four aspects, which are progressive aspect, inchoativeaspect and perfective aspect are put forward according to the author’s research.Aspect markers are also depicted. Though small in number compared with otherdialects, aspects are indispensible in Shahe dialect.
