Life Consciousness In Cao Wenxuan’s Bildungsroman

Cao Wenxuan’s bildungsroman has far-reaching influence in the children’s literature in China."The Growth Trilogy" was written in the1990s.They are typical of Cao Wenxuan’s work and his first well-known books. In his work, Cao insists his creative concept, which is well-known as "forever classic". He expresses his work with a classical ways of life, which is full of compassion and concern to human beings.This article tries to make the point from the perspective of life consciousness. With Cao Wenxuan’s creation advocate, the connotation and aesthetic in his bildungsroman, I try to analysis the life consciousness in Cao Wenxuan’s bildungsroman, and takes the "The Growth Trilogy" as an illustration.This article is divided into six parts:The preface is about the research of Cao Wenxuan’s bildungsroman, and defining the consciousness of life. Then, put forward the research perspectives and research methods.The first part is on the essence of life in the Cao Wenxuan’s bildungsroman. With the deepening self-awareness and increasing personal life experience, people known that life is growing up in misery. And gradually understand the essence of life in the struggle with self and life.The second part is on value of life in the Cao Wenxuan’s bildungsroman. Analysis of the <Gen Niao>, summarize Cao’s understanding of the value of life, which is the individual beyond the reality and the constant pursuit of the ideal. The different choice with the life makes the different ways of life.The third part is on the spirit of life in the Cao Wenxuan’s bildungsroman. In Cao’s work, there is full of human warmth, which is moving the readers. He praises the oure friendship and family love, also misses the miss love. These emotions make the spirit of life, and comfort the heart.The forth part is on the final state of life in the Cao Wenxuan’s bildungsroman. Cao’s work always build a peaceful atmosphere about death. He never exaggerates sadness and hopeless. Whether the description of death scene, or the way of facing death, people in his novel is calm, solemn and quiet. When people experienced setbacks and suffering, people’s mind will change, and want to find a quiet life. They no longer entangle in the glitz and fame, finally, they tend to be open-minded and peaceful.The final part is the conclusion of this paper.
