This paper will try to explore a literary phenomenon mostly involved in all of the traditional detective text, which is "why the wrong answer is necessary". And the author’s analysis is mainly based on two traditional detective texts, one is Oedipus in Greek times, and the other is Purloined Letter in19centures. By putting the wrong answer before the truth, the texts shows that the detection with super wisdom and rationality can conquer the wrong answer at the end and that also shows human himself could recover the broken and cracked balance and make the society more harmony and stable. However, based on the theory proposed by two philosophers Lacan and Zizek, the detection that knowing every thing and the answer must be absolutely true, which are just fantasy which is our reality life in the symbolic,. Because the imaginary and the symbolic have killed us, we become limited men. But the shortage is unconcerned the truth of answer and the real existence of us. Our existence has a mendacious part, and we don’t know we have dead. We have no encourage to embrace the death, to face our death directly, therefore, honoring and identifying our fantasy space and shortage is the main way to protect our feeling of reality, which is the treatment scheme and attitude of Post modernism.Focusing on this theme, the paper based on the time sequence logic will trace back to the reason, outcome and it start from its very beginning, showing its phenomenon and essence. The main body has four parts:In the first chapter, we put forward the phenomenon of mystery which is equal to the real and the unbalanced society. And then we will energetically response the mystery, promulgate the necessity of the wrong answer and the hard process of discovery and analysis the key of successful discovery in order to disorganize the truth of the final answer.In the second chapter, from the angel of truth which is always together with detection, showing the language environment, the method that the detective used and the real detective is to analyze why the wrong answer is necessary, in shake of exposing the disability of detection and the trick of text which cover the lose of truth.In the third chapter, we will offer a proposal in order to face our being which is a fantasy space. Because of our life is a fantasy space, we have no choice except to identify our life and the wrong answer in the text, to identify our shortage and disability, otherwise we will face the death and be abandoned by the symbolic.At the end, it’s a conclusion about this paper and it also contacts the current events to support the way of life of Post modernism. In a word, identify the wrong answer and the shortage of ourselves is absolutely important for all of us.
