Comparative Study On Sentence Of Co-occurrent Of The Object And Complement Of A Verb

Verb(V),object(O) and Complement(C) Co-occurrence in a sentence in modern Chinese, can be combined into a variety of sentence, such as VCO,VOC,VOVC,OVC,Ba-construction, Bei-construction and so on.This paper has analyzed the differences and similarities of three sentence structure VCO、VOVC、 OVC, from the syntax, semantics and pragmatic,the three planes. In the aspect of syntax, the three sentence structure having the same ingredients of the "V","O", and "C", which almost have the same composition. Their "V" and "C" is always close together. Subject omission of three sentence structure, increase in turn according to VCO<VOVC<OVC. We belive this is associated with the topicalizition of "0" in sentence OVC,"O" in sentence VOVC.Transitivity of the verb enhanced in turn according to VCO<OVC<VOVC. We believe that this is related to the tightness on the linearly arranged of the composition "V" and "0".Significance category of the object and complement also has a certain relationship to the establishment of the sentence or not. In the aspect of semantics, the three sentence structures tend to already said event. But a large part of VOVC has the negative semantic, OVC and most of VCO the expressed objective results. Semantic point of "C" in VOVC tends to "S" and "V", Semantic point of "C" in VCO and OVC tends to "O" and "V". The relationship of "V" and "O" more closely, the more inclined to use VOVC, The relationship of "V" and "C" more closely, the more inclined to use VCO and OVC. We believe that this tendency related to the tightness on the linearly arranged of the composition and the information focus of the sentence. In the aspect of pragmatic, the information focus of VOVC is "C", the information focus of VCO and OVC is "O". On the effect of expression, three sentence structures have its own characteristics:The VCO often has the expression of exaggeration, The VOVC often has the expression of emphasis continuation and actions repeatedly, and the OVC often has the expression of contrast. The three sentence structures have a strong colloquial Features. The VCO is more widely used; the VOVC is widely used in newspaper, news or article title, proverbs, net and so on. If the "O" needs to emphasized, the VCO or VOVC always replaced with OVC. We believe that in the specific context, the choice of these three sentences is the result of the interaction of syntax, semantics and pragmatics, but the factors of pragmatic is decisive.
