A Study On The Features Of Ye Dabing’s Folklore Research

This paper takes Wenzhou famous folklorist YE Dabing as theresearch object, sorting out his prominent research on two parts ofregional folk research and applied folklore, in order to make an analysisand discussion of features on his folklore research. YE Dabing appliesfolklore theory to the society, and makes it serve in the relevantenterprises. He finds a new road in research which combines folklorewith social economy. His research is not only conducive to theconstruction and development of folklore, but also provides a successfulexample of research method according to union of social culture andeconomic benefits, which have important reference meaning to thedevelopment of applied folklore studies.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction, which includes significance ofchoosing subject, research status, article structure and research methodsof this paper.The second part is an academic experience of YE Dabing. This partis divided into four stages: YE Dabing’s boyhood played an importantenlightenment role in his academic career afterward; because of his workexperience，he was engaged in folklore study in literature research and opera creation period; at the period of regional folk research, hecommitted to academic research of various local customs; during folklorepractice period, he carried out a series of folk activities, playing apioneering role in the application of folklore research.The third part is research results on YE Dabing’s regional folkachievements. He comes from the people, and explores custom deeplywith research topics cover a wide range. According to the different nature,his research results are divided into economic folklore and folk literature.This part also expounds YE Dabing’s regional folk achievements andinfluence of folklore at home.The fourth part analyzes ideas and features of YE Dabing’s appliedfolklore research and application. Outstanding features in his late researchstage are as follows: by the importance of "micro study", He devoteshimself to link folklore to corporate culture and local social economy,exploring modern social significance in traditional custom, and paysattention to social effect of research results, which achieves a win-win ineconomic and cultural.The fifth part is the conclusion, which summarizes YE Dabing’sacademic attitude and study methods in the folklore research.
