Study On The Folk Custom Vocabularies

This thesis takes the vocabulary of folklore as its object of study, making use of methods of folkloric linguistics and other interrelated knowledge, interdisciplinary study the vocabulary of folklore into the great background of folk culture. For a series of problems such as the concept, characters, categories, derivation, functions, inheritance and evolvements of the vocabulary of folklore, it studies with linguistics,cultural,historical,social synthetical research. It strives to show the panorama of the vocabulary of folklore and establish frame of reference of the vocabulary of folklore.The main viewpoints of this thesis contain: the conception and the boundary of the vocabulary of folklore. The vocabulary of folklore are words which reflect folklore matters or contain essential folklore factors. Its main body are words, including phrase which has been highly-wordlize,just like idioms,therefore categories of the vocabulary of folklore include elements of folk adage. The vocabulary of folklore and the folk adages have intersections. We can't disjoin them completely. The most basic attribute of the vocabulary of folklore is its attribute as language of folklore. The real derivation of the vocabulary of folklore is forms of folklore or folklore matters, based on which it came into being. The literature derivation is record of its change and historical development indeed. The most important social function of the vocabulary of folklore is its linguistics fossil record of folk-customs. The system of the vocabulary of folklore is in constant change. The embodiment of the change have four sides. One is birth of neologism , another is death of old words, the third is the revive folklore words, the last one is evolvement of meaning.
