Research On China’s Contemporary Love Guidance Play

The increasing growth of industrialization and the coexistenceof different cultures have made the classification become a significantcontributor to the development of China’s film and TV industry and aninevitable demand of the integration of film cultural resources. A greatnumber of film and TV drama produced by China in recent years are inconnection with love story in cities, modernism and unique artistictemperament. They inherit the model of the traditional love story andmanifest a fresh artistic value and aesthetical characteristics in line withthe progress of time. This dissertation regards this kind of love story as"love guidance play", a subclass of affectional film. There has not beenany research about this kind of play in China; therefore, this dissertationmainly discusses the specialty of the "love guidance play" and how itscultural creation leads genre films.This dissertation will combine theory and works in order toelaborate the uniqueness of this kind of play through three aspects:connotation definition, narrative strategy, creative industries in culture and industrial significance. Firstly, it defines the connotation based on theresearch method of genre film:“love guidance play” takes youngsters asaudiences, young people’s pursuit of love as subject, life experience asnarrative clues, emotional comfort and emotional inspiring as social value.Secondly, it summarizes the narrative strategy by means of narratology. Itadopts “idol narrative”, emphasizing “romantic narrative” with imagerhetoric and sharing of compete the narrative. Finally, based on imageanalysis, culture creativity research and specific works, it reveals the roleit plays in creation structure and guiding significance on society: it selectssequent events pertinent to the theme to strengthen the dramatic tone. Ithas great impact on community life and public awareness. Forming a newtype of value in the society, it is believed to create a myth in modernChina. The research of the "love guidance play" is bound to diversify thecreation of sub-class plays and promote the culture creativity elementsand high added value of creation on the grounds of types.
