A Multi-perspective Study On "Kansi"(看似)

This thesis takes "kansi1(看似)”as the target of research in modem Chinese. We make a through investigation of "kansi" by means of combining linguistic form with meaning, synchronic with diachronic, statistics with analysis. We probe into and analyze the process of "kansi" lexicalizatiori, semantic that "kansi" conveys, the syntactic expression and the pragmatic function that "kansi" possesses.The whole thesis divided into six chapters, the specific contents are as the following:Chapter One is the preface, which summarizes the state of predecessors’research, and introduces the purpose and meaning of the research the train of thought and method of the research, introduces the sources of corpus.Chapter Two mainly research the course of lexicalization of "kansi". Through the research we found three kinds of "kansi":the phrase "kansi1(看似1)”,the verb "kansi2(看似2)”and the adverb "kansi3(看似3)". We also explain the lexicalization agent of "kansi", which are the exchange of the syntactic position, the fusion of the semantics, the constraint of the rhythm regulation and the motivation of the cognition.In Chapter Three, we describe the semantics of "kansi2and "kansi3", summarizes the semantic background, and conclude the semantic feature of "kansi" which are the inferential, subjectivity, tactful and indicating switching. And we paraphrase "kansi".Chapter Four mainly describes the syntactic features of X among "kansi2+X" and "kansi3+X", the syntactic distribution and attribute of "kansi2, kansi3,"kansi2+X" and "kansi3+X". We also investigate the distribution of sentence category, and explained the reason of sentence type distribution. Chapter Five analysis of the "kansi" pragmatic and textual function. Firstly,we analyzes the function of "kansi" in comparison and analogy; Secondly, we examined the expression of "kansi" function, it has the functions of exegesis, highlight, mark in pragmatics; beiside that we also analyzes the textual function of "kansi";"kansi" in discourse has the function of suitable bearing and thrust bearing.Chapter Six summarize the whole thesis and points to the deficiencies of this thesis.
