| "Harmony" is an important principle in linguistic, which can be used to explain many phenomena of language. The harmonious position of adverbial should be in the same side of the verb with the object. According to the statistics of Dryer&Gensler (2011), there are only three languages that violate harmony principle. In fact, there are many languages that violate harmony principle in China. This paper is based on the investigation of a large number of linguistic corpus of national languages in China, and then we analyzed the corpus in order to found that the universality, then makes a tentative explanation.Chapter one is a brief introduction. Chapter two is an introduction of some relative theory. Chapter three is an investigation of adverbial position of SOV languages; Chapter four is an investigation of adverbial position of SVO languages; Chapter five is an investigation of adverbial position of VSO languages.Chapter six is the most important part of this thesis, the author counted the differences of the violations of harmony principle of different parts of speechã€the type of the adverbial and language family. The author analyzed the results of the statistical, to summarize the same phenomenon, and speculate a probable universality and confirmed it. The author analyzed different phenomenas and found the motivation, which was the result of the interaction of the proximity of semantic and the hierarchy of identifiablity and harmony principle. |
