Feminist economics originate from the second wave of the women’s movement in1960s and theoretical development of neoclassical economics, grow up in late1980s, andhas been widely accepted in1960s. It’s economic not female economists are engaged in,not research in female problems, but a result of feminist permeate economics. And it hasalready been an emerging area of economics. With the improvement of theindustrialization and the influence of two world wars, lots of women swarmed into thelabor market, and began to think deeply of the economic status of themselves. Now thereis an international association for feminist economics and its forum. Feminist economicshas grown into an independent discipline as a branch of economics, and flourished inAmerican and the world.This article trace the background and three stages of feminist economicsdevelopment, and introduce several outstanding feminist economist, as BarbaraBergmann, Ferber Mariannne.A, Julie.A.Nelson, Ester Boserup and so on. The content offeminist economics is widely, this article put emphasis on methodology, women’s unpaidwork and social policy, especially the character which is different from mainstreameconomics. In a word, as a representative of oriental cuture and a powers in developing,it’s beneficial to the development of economic studies of our country by researching thefull trajectory of feminist economics.
